The Great Resignation was one of the biggest trends in recent years where people mass quit their jobs and started to actually enjoy life. But, what happen to the people who stayed at their jobs, what did they do? A certain portion of these people quiet quit, which started an entirely new trend.

What is Quiet Quitting?

Quiet Quitting is not a new concept. You might have Quiet quit your job years ago without even realizing it. Quiet quitting is the process of as an employee, you are doing the bare minimum possible at your job not to get fired.

Quiet quitting is basically just going through the motions every day and waiting to collect your check every 2 weeks. In short, you are doing the opposite of trying to be an overachiever. This is surprising in the tech field because normally people feel they must always go above & beyond, working 20 hours days to keep their career.

Common reasons for quiet quitting include:

  • Being burned out from your job
  • Feeling underappreciated at your job
  • Having no work-life balance
