It is a very interesting time in the job market. New trends have taken over and workers’ views of the workplace and changed dramatically in tech. Now is a perfect opportunity for you to be able to leverage these new views to your benefit and possibly raise the benefits and compensation that you are currently receiving.

What is “The Great Resignation”?

Let’s first define what The Great Resignation is. According to Forbes “The great resignation is a mass exodus of people quitting their jobs now that the pandemic is waning.”Forbes also stated, “This August, the quit rate reached 2.9% — the highest the Bureau of Labor Statistics has ever recorded — when 4.3 million people quit their jobs.”

Next, you might be asking, “But why are people quitting at a time like now?” This can be attributed to 3 main causes

  1. Worker Burnout-many people have been required to do more with less because of the lack of resources some companies now have
  2. Pandemic Wake Up Call-Because of what we are currently going through, many people are reminded that life is short. They rather try a new career or go down a different path now after being reminded of this instead of waiting to do so in the future.
